Definition
Mindfulness means paying attention to what is happening right now in your body and in the world around you. It's like using your eyes and ears to notice things and then using your brain to think about them. It can help you feel calm and happy.

- Practice kindness. Be nice to yourself and others.
- Take a break from screens and enjoy nature. Go for a walk, play outside, or look at the clouds.
- Remember that it's okay to make mistakes. Just take a deep breath and try again.

Exercises
• Take a mindful walk: Pay attention to your surroundings and notice everything you see, hear, and feel as you walk.
• Do a body scan: Lie down or sit still and focus on each part of your body, one at a time, noticing any sensations you feel.
• Listen to music mindfully: Listen to your favorite song and focus on each note, instrument, and sound.
• Practice mindful breathing: Breathe in deeply and slowly, hold your breath for a few seconds, and then breathe out slowly. Focus on your breath as you do this.
• Eat mindfully: Choose a snack or meal and focus on the taste, smell, and texture of each bite.
• Observe nature: Sit outside and watch the clouds, birds, or trees. Notice everything you see, hear, and feel.
• Practice gratitude: Think about something you are grateful for and spend a few moments appreciating it.
• Write in a gratitude journal: Write down three things you are grateful for each day.
• Use a mindfulness app: There are many apps that can guide you through mindfulness exercises, such as Headspace or Calm.
• Draw or color mindfully: Choose a picture to color or draw and focus on each stroke of the pencil or marker.
• Practice loving-kindness meditation: Close your eyes and think of someone you love. Imagine sending them love, kindness, and positive thoughts.
